What is BBL?
The BBL, or Brazilian Butt Lift, is a cosmetic surgery technique that aims to enhance and shape the buttocks by increasing their volume. This procedure allows for a more harmonious and feminine figure, thus meeting the expectations of patients.
Two main techniques are used to perform a BBL:
- Liposuction: Fat is suctioned from areas of the body where it is in excess (thighs, stomach, hips) and then reinjected into the buttocks.
- Autologous fat injection: This technique uses the patient’s own fat, harvested by liposuction, to increase the volume of the buttocks.
- Buttock implant: This technique is less used today because it presents more risks than liposuction and autologous fat injection.
The choice of technique depends on several factors:
- The amount of fat needed
- The patient’s morphology
- Their personal preferences
Natural and long-lasting results:
The BBL by liposuction and autologous fat injection offers natural and long-lasting results. The grafted fat generally integrates well with the surrounding tissues and the result is visible permanently.
Curved and harmonious buttocks:
The BBL can correct various defects:
- Flat buttocks
- Droopy buttocks
- Asymmetrical buttocks
- Lack of volume
A more complex procedure:
The BBL is a more complex procedure than traditional liposuction. It requires general anesthesia and lasts about 2 to 3 hours.
Post-operative instructions:
- Wear a compression garment for several weeks
- Avoid sitting directly on the buttocks
- Sleep on your stomach for several weeks
- Avoid strenuous physical activity for several weeks
